English Crisps

Craving English Crisps

It seems like no matter where you wind up in the world, there is a snack that all of mankind can agree on, the potato chip. Growing up in England we referred to them as English Crisps, not potato chips. II've since relocated to America, where there are a large variety of crisps (or potato chips) to choose from, but none of them really feel (or taste) like home to me. Don't get me wrong, Americas potato chip is fantastic, but nothing compares to the English Crisp and I'm sure that once you try them you're sure to agree with me.

British Crisps With the power of the Internet it should be very easy to pick up a bag from an online retailer that I can trust, however, this has proven more difficult than originally thought. In the past I'd usually pay way too much for the product, or the company that I would deal with would either be out of stock on the item (but still have it listed as being in stock) or they would provide horrible customer service.

I've since found Poppys Pantry, an online retailer located here in the USA that has fast shipping, great pricing and incredible customer service. Anytime I get a craving for my favorite crisps I place an order with Poppys and in a few short days my order is on my doorstep, ready to be devoured. Not only can I find delicious crisps, but I can get other great British foods as well, like Lucozade or Jaffa Cakes.

While I love the traditional BBQ flavors offered up by my local convenience store, there are certain flavors that you just cant find in the states and that are my hands down favorites such as; Plain Salted, Cheese & Onion, Salt & Vinegar, Worcestershire, Roast Chicken, Smokey Bacon... the list goes on and on. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Time to visit Poppys Pantry for another order of my delicious English Crisps! Ha ha!

Head into any pub in England and you can order up a pint of your favorite beer and a bag of crisps to compliment the cold brew. This is something that I really miss about being in the U.K.. American bars just don't have the selection that we had back in England.

If you've lived the sheltered American life, full of Doritos and other 'safety' brands, and want to try something new (for your next football party) go over to Poppys Pantry and grab a few bags of crisps. Not only will you be surprised at how delicious these 'chips' can be but also you're sure to be the life of the party with your friends dining on crisps from England. While you're at it, pick up a bunch of good treats from Poppys Pantry and have a full-blown English food party! How cool is that!?
